Problems viewing PDFs
Pdfs should automatically open in the NSW Archaeology Online window.
On some computers the pdfs display jumbled or the pdf opens in another screen.
To fix this problem you need to adjust your settings for Adobe Acrobat Reader or Acrobat Professional.
- Close the report you are trying to open
- Open Acrobat Reader/ Pro
- Go to EDIT / PREFERENCES
- Go to CATEGORIES on left side and click INTERNET
- Under 'Web Browser Options' tick the box 'Display PDF in Browser' then click OK
- Return to NSW Archaeology Online and open the desired report
- Go to CATEGORIES on left side and click INTERNET
Changes to browser settings
If a PDF is too large to open in your current internet settings Firefox delivers a message that tells you the file is damaged and cannot be repaired. The file is not damaged but you do need to adjust your browser settings. Explorer does not display an error message, however the screen remains blank. Instructions for fixing these problems are below.
Mozilla Firefox
- While Firefox is open got to TOOLS/ OPTIONS/ ADVANCED
- Check that your 'Offline Storage' is at least 100MB and click OK
- It is also a good idea to 'Clear Now' which clears the cache
- Close Firefox and reopen
Internet Explorer
- While Internet Explorer is open got to TOOLS/ INTERNET OPTIONS
- Under Browsing history, click on 'Settings'
- Check that your 'Temporary Internet Files' is at least 100MB and click OK
- Close Internet Explorer and reopen
